The market ended the week up 2.2pc or 865pts to close at 40330. Average turnover surged to 465mln up 23 from last week. Value traded was Rs 14.8 up 17pc from last week. In the last two weeks average turnover has doubled compared to previous weeks from 230mln shares due to intensive trading in small cap stocks. Outflows during the week were USD7mln compared to USD3.3mln last week. Massive outflow of USD 25mln was witnessed in cement sector, mostly offset by inflows in commercial banks which received 10mln. Under USD2mln of inflows came in Oil, E&P'S and Power generation each. USD1.5mln was received by textiles.
Volume leaders during the week were TRG, PACE, DSFL, DCL and BOP. TRG and BOP were major winners during the week climbing 20pc and 17pc. INDU and NRL followed at 10pc each. OTSU was up 15pc. PACE rose 20pc, DFML 27pc, and DSFL 44pc. These were the price movements that propelled market volumes to such 15month highs. The weeks worst performances came from SEARL, IBFL, SPWL
