The market closed a volatile week up 616pts(1.3pc) at 49624. Volumes and value traded were down 6pc and 1pc WoW at 301mln shares and Rs14.3bln respectively. Hopes of easing liquidity at the bourse with early induction of a margin trading product helped the index out of its torpor towards the end of the week, also spurring volumes sharply higher. The index made a low of 48146 and a high of 49894 during the week bringing total fluctuation to 1748pts.
LOTCHEM, PRL, CSAP, EPCL, ANL, PIF were major gainers rising in double digit pct terms. DCL, NCL, NCPL and ASL were losers falling over 4pc for the week. Outflow during the week spiked to USD32.7mln. We advise caution at the 50000 level, looking out for political volatility with the Panama case still hanging in the balance.
