The market closed down 300pts after rising 200pts in the morning marking another volatile session. It closed at 38470. Turnover was 150mln shares while value traded was Rs 9.9bln.
Best performance of the day came from PAEL, ATRL and NRL with E&P's offering some support in an otherwise bleak market. Most of the day losses came from from banks with MCB and BAFL closing at lower cap while HBL and UBL shed over 3pc.
With overall outlook positive for the index, profit selling is expected given rollover week ahead.
