The index closed up 330 pts easing the bulk of the weeks losses., though turnover was 167mln shares. Todays gainers were Unicap Modarba Haseeb Waqas Sugar, Aisha Steel Crescent Star Insurance up 22, 18, 10 and 7pc.

Losers were Hayderi Construction, Kohinoor Textile, Ibrahim Fibre and Murree Brewery down 8, 6.7 and 5 pc.

The market advance for the day was broad. Top traded stocks by value were Engro, Pak Elektron, Attock refinery and the two Suis.

Oil and gas marketing notched gains today. SNGP and SSGC were up 1 and 2pc. Shell Pakistan hit upper cap.

Crescent steel hit upper cap while Mughal was up 1pc.

Cements closed higher with Lucky, DGKC, Maple leaf closing 1-2 pc higher. Fecto was 3.5pc up.

Fertilizers were also up. Engro up 3.2pc, Efert 2pc, FFC 1pc, Ffbl 1.7pc and Fatima 1.5pc.

E&P's were steady for the day.

Automotives moved higher with Ghandara Industries, Nissan and General Tyre hitting upper caps. Millat Tractor also closed up 5pc.

Attock refinery climbed 4.5pc on significant activitiy.

Pak Elektron closed up 3.3pc after a weak weekly performance.

Commercial Banks also closed in the green finding support from Moody's positive rating announcement with most scrips edging a percent higher.
