The index closed down 42pts at 33766 after stopping short 50pts from the 34000 mark intra day. Turnover once again made a multi month high at 327mln shares. Value traded last touched Rs13.65bln in early Oct 2015. Profit selling wiped out the days gains towards the end. Oil stocks added to negative sentiment with crude prices weakening over uncertainty regarding OPEC plan to freeze production.
JSCL, JSCL, LPL and PKGP were the worst hit today ending lower in excess of 4pc. PTCL was the days best performer ending over 6pc higher. KEL, TREET, DCH and FFBL gained 3-3.5pc. Monetary policy cut on Saturday could give further impetus to the market while quarterly earnings season kicks off after mid April.
