The Index powered ahead today building on gains the week before ending higher by 359pts(1pc) to close at 33808. Turnover at 292mln shares was the highest this year and the highest since 6 Nov 2015. Value traded came in at Rs 11.6bln. Cement stocks jumped again on expectations of positive sales numbers and robust earnings numbers in upcoming quarterly announcements. Fertilizers and autos added their support. FFBL hit upper circuit on its meat plant commencement. PSO rose 4 pc on strong growth in oil consumption. TRG, CPPL, TPL, PAKCEM, PACE, AVN, ASC, NOPL, ISL and PIA rose in excess of 4pc. PAKT, NATF lost almost 5pc. Todays volume leaders were KEL, DCL, JSCL, TRG and TPL.
