The index closed down 327pts to close at 30766. The market failed to sustain yesterday's 470pt rally opening lower right from the start of trading. Collapsing crude oil and uncertainty regarding weaknesses in china's economy continue to make investors nervous regarding the quantum of foreign outflows, Yesterday's hefty USD10mln outflow left buyers running for cover. Today's volumes was lower at 105mln shares. Value traded was Rs 7bln also lower by 15pc. Maple leaf cement announced a positive set of earnings numbers today to close at Rs82.23. The company announced half yearly Eps of Rs 4.44. Today's top items by value were MLCF, FFC and DGKC. Earnings season commences next week though continous pounding of crude oil and regional market volatility leaves the local bourse unsettled.
