The market closed a volatile session down 62pts. It opened strong and was up as high as 190pts, closing on a low note though, succumbing to selling pressure after yesterday's rally. Volumes rose to 192mln shares, up over 20pc, while value traded was up 17pc to Rs 9.5bln.
Volumes in today's session were dominated by KEL, JSCL, Pak Elektron, TRG and Byco. PIBTL closed at upper cap. Fertilizers didn't continue yesterday's rally on news of gas supply to the sector. Yesterday Engro's value traded hit a November December to date high. Oil stocks came under pressure with weakening crude prices. Today's net outflow number of USD 3mln won't do much for sentiment either. Among a active stocks today's winners were Mari, Al shaheer, Hinoon, Bulk Terminal, Pak Elektron and JSCL, Losers were Linde and Ghandara Industries.
